Yorkton Mini-Storage Terriers News

The Yorkton Mini-Storage Terriers have been to two tournaments this year. The first one was December 12 in Balcarres. The Terriers played very well at that tournament and ended up with a 3-0 record. Good job Mini-Storage Terriers!!

For the second tournament, the Yorkton Mini-Storage Terriers traveled to Moose Jaw on January 8, 9 and 10 for a Novice Tier II Tournament. The tournament started out with a bang, as they beat the Saskatoon Wild Wolverines on Friday afternoon. Next they went up against a tough Warman Wildcat team for their first loss of the tournament. The Terriers next victim was the Swift Current Stars. In the final round robin game the Terriers lost to the Moose Jaw Sabres. With a 2-2 record, the Terriers had enough points to play in the C final against the Moose Jaw Canucks. The game was hard fought and went into overtime. It appeared as though a shoot-out was necessary until Colby Vranai broke loose on a break away and scored with 10 seconds left to give the Terriers a 6-5 victory. Congratulations to the players for their team work and also for their great representation of Yorkton Minor Hockey.
